In December and January, the Hungarian Museum of Science, Technology And Transport welcomes visitors with an unusual museum-pedagogical experience called Moving Museum; visitors can tour the inner city of Budapest on a rear-engine Ikarus 66 bus, and at the same time get to know the world of the age of the vehicle - MTI reports based on what was said at the institution's press conference.

At the press conference, Domonkos Schneller, the Director General of the institution, emphasised that despite the energy crisis, they prepared a special program for the holidays. On the nostalgia trip, those interested can visit the capital's most beautiful places on an iconic, uniquely decorated Ikarus 66 bus made in 1973, said the Director General of the museum. He added that the Ikarus 66 of the Museum of Transport was one of the last ten copies produced, it was in use between 1973 and 1983, and was then used by a beekeeper. The institution bought the bus in 2016, and after its authentic restoration, it regained its original condition and operability, and it also received the oldtimer certification.

Domonkos Schneller highlighted that the educational route will start for the first time on 17 December at 6:30 p.m., and then the program will continue on 28-30 December, and every Saturday and Sunday in January, three times a day, at 4:00 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The ride takes about 50 minutes, depending on traffic.

The nostalgia bus starts from the entrance of the City Park Ice Rink, next to the Kunsthalle, and returns to the same place. The Director General of the museum said that the children and staff of the Mesevár Kindergarten in Rétközberencs in Szabolcs County, many of whom have never been to the capital, will be hosted for a day at their own expense as part of the program.

Domonkos Schneller emphasised that there are a limited number of tickets available for the museum educational trips according to the capacity of the vehicle. More information about the program can be found on the website mozgomuzeum.hu, reports MTI.
