The Budapest Cultural Centre, with the financial support of the Budapest City Council, has issued a call for proposals for the implementation of cultural and artistic programs that present the identity, values and cultural roots of the capital's districts and neighbourhoods on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Pest, Buda and Óbuda, in connection with the Budapest 150 commemorative year.

Public cultural institutions, cultural centres, museums, local history collections and libraries maintained by the district local councils can apply for the tender, and they can win a maximum of eight million HUF in support.

In the call, one of the goals of the tender was to pass on local traditions in an innovative way, as well as to present the characteristics of the capital's districts in a complex way during the commemorative year, "painting a comprehensive picture of one of Europe's defining metropolises, Budapest". Rediscovering the diversity of Budapest was also identified as a goal.

It was emphasised that priority will be given to programs that focus on the specificities of the district, events aimed at a large number of visitors, and program plans submitted in cooperation with district civil organisations.

Applications must be submitted by 15 February 2023, and the results will be announced in the days after 28 February.
