The Merzse Swamp may be safe

The last swampy habitat of Budapest, The Merzse swamp in the 17th district has been threatened with dehydration for years, but a plan will soon be drawn up to save the special area: a ditch system would be used to replenish the nature reserve with water.
The forests of the Jegenye Valley and the Óbuda Island have been placed under protection

Two valuable areas, the 2nd district Jegenye Valley and the gallery forest of Óbuda Island has recently been protected. The Jegenye Valley is dominated by the many salamanders that live there and the now almost completely extinct hornbeam-oak forest, but the clean water springs there are also a rare treasure. It is also a rarity, and the 2.5-kilometer-long gallery forest in Óbuda, which is close to nature, is also under special protection.
Walking paths on Sas Hill to be renovated

The Danube–Ipoly National Park is carrying out development work on Sas Hill. Alongside the pruning of shrubs and planting of saplings, walk paths are to be renovated, new tables and benches, information boards, nesting spots and bird feeders built.
