Bust of Ilona Tóth unveiled in courtyard of Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital

Ilona Tóth was a final year medical student who was an extern during the 1956 revolution became a symbolic figure of the communist regime's retaliation for the revolution. A new bust commemorating her has been unveiled in the courtyard of the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Clinic and Hospital in Kőbánya.

András Mechwart died 115 years ago, and he created the Ganz Factory, a company that has defined Hungarian industry for decades, from a company of a few hundred people. Originally, the main factory was located in Buda, in the area between today's Bem József Street and Ganz Street, from where it expanded to Kacsa Street, Fény Street, and then to its Pest sites. The memory of the factory is preserved today by the Ábrahám Ganz Foundry Collection at 20 Bem József Street, and posterity pays tribute to András Mechwart with the 2nd District square named after him and the bust shown here.

The work of the sculptor György Vastagh Jr., who also made the Csikós statue, was unveiled in 1937 in the small square at the intersection of Úri Street and Szentháromság Street in the presence of the country's leaders at the time. The statue commemorating the former warlord of the Habsburg Empire, András Hadik and the 3rd Hussar Regiment, has been associated with a strange custom among graduating students of the Műegyetem (Budapest University of Technology) since the 1950s.

András Mayerhoffer, born in Salzburg, is one of the leading figures of Baroque-Rococo architecture in Hungary. He is also known as the creator of the so-called Grassalkovich or Gödöllő style. The works of the master builder and architect, who died 250 years ago, such as the first two-towered Catholic Church in Pest or the former Péterffy Palace in Piarista Street - are still defining elements of Budapest's cityscape.
The renovated Angyalföld Reformed Church was handed over

On 26 March, the renovated Frangepán Street Reformed Church was handed over. The 13th District church was built in 1933, the tower was restored in 2017, and the roof and facade were renovated last year. By the time of the ceremonial handover, the building had completely recovered its form ninety years ago.

However, the historical circumstances also increase the value of this work of his, which also belongs to the elite in its category.

The National Széchényi Library and the National Heritage Institute presented the new results of the expansion of the Hungarian National Name Directory. Thanks to the cooperation, from 16 February, the material of the Personal Name Directory, Geographical Name Directory and Board Name Directory will be connected to the database of memorial places, in which memorial places across the border will also appear. The digital interface is an interconnected network of people, geographical places, bodies, and memorial sites that are important for national memory, and is accessible to everyone.
A monument was erected in Újpest to the soldiers who died at the Don River

A memorial was inaugurated in the 4th District in honour of the Újpest soldiers who fell at the Don River in World War II. The work depicts the last marching column of soldiers marching far into the distance, on the reverse side of which five soldiers' graves can be seen.
