Parking garage in the historic inner city

Cars everywhere - this characterised Budapest 50 years ago. Parking was thought to be part of the modern city. In Budapest, there were more and more cars, but the number of parking spaces did not increase fast enough, and a parking garage for 350 vehicles in the very centre of the inner city wanted to help with this.
A new parking system is being introduced in Budapest

The Capital City local council is introducing a new parking system consisting of four zone types, the area of paid zones is increasing, and parking fees are also rising. The new regulations will come into effect on 5 September.
Vehicle entry to Buda Castle first restricted 35 years ago

Today car access to the castle is limited, and only midi-buses run within its ancient walls. Restrictions on access were introduced 35 years ago because traffic endangered historic buildings and the caves beneath the streets of the castle.
