If the donations are collected, next year a mass place that matches the landscape can be built in the Hegyvidék.
Ninety-five years ago, Normafa fell down - they tried to save it for decades 95 years ago, hikers in Buda surprisedly found on Svábhegy that their favourite, century-old tree had disappeared overnight. The excursion place without the beech tree called Normafa from 19 June 1927 was no longer the same as before.
Transmission towers demolished on Normafa Landscaping of the Normafa green area continues: the two transmission towers next to the Vasas ski house have been demolished. The Hegyvidék Local Council has been negotiating with the tower operators for years.
Winter sports season to be extended on Normafa The 12th District local council has begun preparing the snow cannon investment planned for Normafa. Reconstruction of Normafa car park begins – New greens to replace asphalt On 10 May, one of the most important elements of the renewal of Normafa, the elimination of the old bus stop and car park, will begin writes the website of the 12 District local council. What is now an asphalt area in a protected forest will become a green community area. A car park has been created on Konkoly-Thege Road.
Educational canopy trail planned for Normafa An educational canopy trail has been planned for Normafa. To be built on the former Sport Hotel site, the trail will have space for 150 visitors and focus on conservation education. The study trail will begin at ground level and climb above the tree canopy to offer a stunning view of Budapest.
Queen Consort Elizabeth and the most beautiful lookout tower in Budapest The Elizabeth Lookout Tower atop János Hill in Budapest was opened with much ceremony 110 years ago. The tiered, cylindrical tower of snow-white limestone has since then become an unmatched staple of the Buda Hills, as it is visible from large swathes of the city. The highest point of the city houses one of Budapest's most popular lookout towers, the Elizabeth Lookout. The building, designed by Pál Kluzinger and Frigyes Schulek, was opened 110 years ago.
