Over the past hundred years, a lot has changed in Városmajor, but culture and guaranteed entertainment have always been present and can still be found in the capital's first public park. The predecessor of the Városmajor Open-Air Stage, the open-air Park cinema, opened here more than a hundred years ago, but the fate of the park was also very interesting after that. In 1935, the well-known stage was built, which, along with its surroundings, has undergone continuous transformations over the past century, including recent times.
The clinic in Városmajor is being expanded with a new wing

A new four-storey wing will be added to the Városmajor Cardiology and Vascular Clinic on the site below 70 Városmajor Street, where the Diagnostic Center will be located. The new and old blocks of the clinic are planned to be connected by a bridge.
A monument was inaugurated for World War II victims in the 12th district

On Thursday, in the park area in front of the Church of the Heart of Jesus in Városmajor, a memorial to the civilian and military victims of world war II was handed over. The monument, which consists of two granite blocks, depicts in an abstract way the loss that extinguished human lives have meant and will mean to those affected.
There will be even more trees in Városmajor: the oldest public park in Buda will be renovated

An open design competition for landscape renovation was announced for the renovation of the historic public park in Városmajor. During the investment, a greener, more orderly park will be created in the heart of Buda, in the 12th district. The green space of the park will be expanded, new trees will be planted, new clearings will be created, cars will be excluded, interior paths will be rethought, playgrounds will be renovated, older people will be given more quiet resting places and dog owners will have a place as well.

Life today is unimaginable without a phone, yet not so long ago people could wait decades for a connection to be brought to their flat. Those who had landlines could consider themselves privilege, and those selling flats with one could ask a higher price. Thirty years ago, a new telephone exchange in Csepel with 18,000 lines was a huge step forward. Nevertheless, it seemed that it would only be possible to connect half of the flats in the city with phone lines by 2000.
Renovated Heart of Jesus Church blessed in Városmajor

The renovation of the Heart of Jesus Church in Városmajor has been completed. The façade, interior and roof structure were replaced during the reconstruction. Designed by Aladár Árkay, the church served as a hall of worship for ten years and later became a scene of local community life.

An exhibition was opened in János Neumann's former school, the Fasori Lutheran Secondary School, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the world-famous mathematician's birth. In the exhibition presenting the former Neumann milieu, paintings, graphics, photos, furniture, and objects tell the story of the art-supporting spirit of the noble bourgeois family at the turn of the century.
