Based on the notice published in the public procurement notice on 29 October, Archi-kon Építészeti Tervező-Szervező Kft. is preparing the construction plans for the renovation of the interior of the Hunyadi tér Market Hall.

According to the description, the design task is to prepare construction plans for the renovation of the 9253 square meters of the interior of the market hall, primarily for interior designers and partly for architects. General design includes structural design (e.g., inspection of slabs, static condition), mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and all professional designs required for renovation, including compliance with heritage protection needs and interior design plans.

As they write, the planning must take into account that the Hunyadi tér Market Hall is a protected monument in the center of Budapest, in a world heritage area (in the protection zone of the Danube banks, Buda Castle District and Andrássy Street).

The Hunyadi Square Market Hall in Terézváros was built in 1897 according to the plans of Győző Czigler. The hall space has a three-nave, basilica layout. The steel girders of the roof structure are elliptical and riveted.

In 2019, the facade of the building was completely renovated, restored according to the original plans. At this stage, the wooden doors and windows were replaced, the ornate surfaces were restored and the stone surfaces were cleaned.
