The first phase of the tender announced by the Budapest Development Center (BFK) for the design of the new campus of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University has been completed, by the decision of the committee 12 applicant got the opportunity to desing the plans of the new, modern camps of the university in the centre of Józsefváros, in the Palace District.  "Twelve applicants can start, we are expecting twelve exciting plans," concluded Balázs Fürjes, Secretary of State for Developments in Budapest, and chairman of the committee.

Applicants are responsible for designing a university library, research centre, laboratories, as well as a sports facility and a special college in addition to the basic functions directly related to education and training. At the same time, the monumental values of the Károlyi and Esterházy palaces on the future campus must be preserved and the spirituality that Catholic education has represented - beyond borders - for centuries must be displayed.

As already reported, the Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE), which has been operating in a fragmented manner in the former buildings of the Hungarian Radio, will create a consolidated campus in the Palace District of Józsefváros,i in an area bordered by Szentkirályi Street- Múzeum Street - Pollack Mihály Square and Bródy Sándor Street.

The goal is creating a university campus that meets the needs of the 21th century, where students, lecturers and researchers can continue their daily activities in educational and community spaces of the right quality - it can be read on the ppkecampustervpalyazat.hu website. The investment is expected to be completed by 2027.
