MOL Campus, the company's new headquarters, has opened in Budapest, next to the Kopaszi Dam, MTI reports. In the building, 2,500 people will work on the company's growth, because Hungary's energy supply must be ensured, said the president and CEO of the MOL group at the opening ceremony on 8 December.

He recalled that in 2016, they decided to build a new, self-owned headquarters because they believed in the future. He added that the Campus was designed for future generations, the building suggests that: "MOL was here, it is here and it will be here in the coming decades". He pointed out that MOL is Hungary's first flagship that was able to demonstrate success abroad. Today it is the leading industrial company in the region. The MOL Group is present in 21 countries around the world. At the same time, he indicated that, no matter how international the company is, "it is at home here", because MOL, as a Hungarian multinational company, decided to build in Budapest, where the office building of the future will be built.

Péter Ratatics, the Executive Vice President for Consumer Services of the Group, said that the Campus is 143 metres high and has a net floor area of 86,000 square metres. In response to a question from MTI, he said that the construction of the new headquarters was financed by MOL from its own resources, but the value of the investment was not made public, citing business secrets. However, he noted that the Campus represents a roughly 20 per cent higher value than the office buildings being built in Hungary.

After the opening, representatives of the 11th District of the historic churches blessed the MOL Campus.

According to the announcement issued on the spot, the MOL Campus was built in one of the most dynamically developing parts of Budapest, the BudaPart. MOL is moving its 2,500 colleagues, who have been working at 9 different locations, to the new headquarters. They added that thanks to innovative solutions such as 900 square metres of solar panels on the building and the cooling and heating system using geothermal energy, the MOL Campus meets the strictest sustainability requirements.
