The interior renovation of the Szilágyi Dezső Square church began in 2019. The patterning of the church’s nearly 300-square-metre windows has been restored. A new patterned terrazzo floor covering was laid, under which an underfloor heating system and a completely new electrical network were placed. The heating, cooling and ventilation of the church are automated; the lighting is energy efficient, writes the MTI.

Plans for the future include the construction of a 40-square-metre new room, with a changing room for children, a tourist centre and an entrance for people with limited mobility will be added.
The church on Szilágyi Dezső Square was built between 1893 and 1895 according to the plans of Samu Petz; the furniture was also designed by the architect. The church was consecrated 125 years ago, on the Palm Sunday of 1896. The church has been a characteristic element of the cityscape with its Neo-Gothic style, brown-yellow-green glazed Zsolnay tiles ever since.
