The MTI reports that the State Secretary Responsible for the Development of the Budapest Agglomeration within the Prime Minister's Office announced at a press conference on Wednesday that 54 new trains will also be put to work by 2025, alongside the renovation and expansion.

Balázs Fürjes stated that the Ráckeve and Csepel suburban railways will be extended to Kálvin Square to ensure easy connection to metro lines 3 and 4. The underground section will follow Soroksári Road. Thus, the Suburban railway will no longer cut the National Theatre, Palace of Arts and surrounding areas of the city off from the banks of the Danube.
