The largest square in Erzsébetváros, Klauzál Square, stands in the centre of what has become known as the Budapest party district. Residential buildings surround the square. The local council announced renovation plans on its website.

The square has been untouched for 24 years. Current green spaces will be increased, the playground and dog park renewed, and the area made accessible to those with limited mobility as part of the project. Public safety is also expected to improve.

Beyond the basic ideas, the local council will also involve residents in the planning process. Interested parties can share their opinion in a closed Facebook group created for this purpose or by writing an email to klauzalter@erzsebetvaros.hu.

An online public forum will also be held on 9 March.

In addition, the local government is planning an exhibition for the square. Visitors to the Klauzál Square Market will see the planned changes on an interactive map and see where games, sports equipment, and recreational spaces would be moved.
