The complete exterior reconstruction of the Kútvölgyi tower will cover 11,000 square meters, will have brand new insulation, facades, doors and windows, and the internal renovation will begin on seven levels - said Balázs Fürjes, Secretary of State for Development of the Prime Minister's Office in Budapest and the Budapest agglomeration on Facebook in his video posted this morning.

He also added that the government has allocated HUF 5 billion for this, and the works are expected to be completed by the autumn of 2022. The inpatient care in Buda will be provided by the Renewable Emergency Department, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Intensive Care, Urology, 250 beds and five operating rooms, the Secretary of State said.

This is mostly necessary so that when the new, modern hospital block of 80,000 square meters is built in the area of St. John's Hospital, the inpatient care of the people of Buda will be uninterrupted, and the healing work that is now taking place in St. John's Hospital will be continuous. Thus, by the time of the investment, they will be able to move from St. John's Hospital to the Kútvölgy Tower, which will be completed by then, Balázs Fürjes added.

Csaba Gór, the Fidesz president of Budapest's 4th constituency, said in the video that the fourth central hospital in Budapest will be established as the successor of St. John's Hospital. "We are working to ensure that all citizens of Budapest receive continuous and safe medical care," the pro-government politician added.
