The demolition of the Corvinus University Ménesi road campus has begun. The property was built in several phases from 1973 to the mid-1980s, with a floor area of approximately 17,575 square feet, previously housed the College of Public Administration. It will be replaced by the university’s new, modern campus.

As we wrote earlier , the new campus will be unique in Hungary in terms of both education and innovation. The building will house educational and research spaces, dormitories, professor apartments, community and representation rooms, as well as rooms suitable for sports and recreation. The institution has previously informed our newspaper that the size of the building will not change compared to its current condition.

The Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, which maintains Corvinus University, will spend HUF 12 billion on central renovation work.

The area is promised to build a “future-oriented” building of inspiring spaces that has been designed with maximum sustainability in mind. The future campus was inspired by the buildings of world-class universities such as the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien or the University of St. Gallen.

An important goal of the investment is for the campus to be the first of the Hungarian higher education investments to meet the conditions for the Gold certification of the so-called LEED sustainability standard, which is widespread in Europe and North America. also partial recycling of construction debris.
