Several public areas will be renamed in the capital

In the 14th District, a park is named after Eszter Pécsi, the first Hungarian female architect, and Margit Slachta, the first Hungarian female parliamentarian. A section of Eötvös Road in the 12th District will become the Kopp Mária Promenade.

On 26 October, the General Assembly of Budapest decided on the naming of several public areas. The representatives unanimously decided to name a square in the 2nd District after Ottilia Solt, an outstanding figure of the Hungarian social and human rights movement, MTI announced. In the 8th District, a hitherto anonymous public area will be named Vagon Street, and in the 12th District, a section of Eötvös Road will be renamed Kopp Mária Promenade, in honour of the doctor and psychologist.

In the 14th District, a park is named after Eszter Pécsi, the first Hungarian female architect, and Margit Slachta, the first Hungarian female parliamentarian, and a square is named in memory of the poet Margit Szécsi.
