The House of Music Hungary has also achieved success in America after Europe: the Liget Project's iconic building won the Architectural Design of the Year award at the most prestigious overseas architectural competition, the Architecture MasterPrize (AMP), reports MTI based on a statement from City Park.

The Architecture Masterprize award was created by the award's founders in 2015 to promote the recognition and presentation of quality architecture worldwide. The prize is awarded for unique projects that stand out among contemporary architectural creations with their novelty, creativity and innovation.

This year, nominations for the award came from 65 countries. The winner was selected by a jury consisting of renowned architects and experts in theoretical and practical fields through multiple rounds of voting.

In their explanation of the House of Music Hungary, they referred to the harmony of the building and nature, the bold use of colour, and emphasised the acoustics of the concert hall. During the evaluation, the jury highlighted the inspiring and innovative nature of the City Park building designed by the Japanese Sou Fujimoto.

László Baán, Ministerial Commissioner of the project, received the recognition on Thursday at a ceremony held at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. According to the announcement, the Ministerial Commissioner said at the award ceremony that the Liget Budapest project is today Europe's largest urban development project with cultural content. The development started in 2011, keeping in mind the traditions of the park, but rethinking the district in a 21st-century way.

The Ministerial Commissioner emphasised that the project already has significant results, but it is not yet close to the end: its largest and most important development, the construction of the almost fifty-thousand-square-metre New National Gallery, designed by the Pritzker prize-winning Japanese architecture firm SANAA, is among the tasks of the coming years. At the award ceremony, László Baán thanked the designer of the House of Music Hungary, Suo Fujimoto, whose architectural masterpiece of outstanding value in the world enriches the special architectural heritage of the Hungarian capital.

Already based on its plans, the house was chosen as the best public building in Europe in 2019 at the International Property Awards in London, which is one of the highest recognitions in the real estate industry. In 2020, the building received the main prize for the world's best music-themed development in the American Music Cities Awards.

This year, TimeOut, one of the most influential international program recommendation magazines, ranked the House of Music Hungary in 2nd place among the 22 best cultural attractions in the world in 2022. In March 2022, it won the jury's main prize in Cannes, at MIPIM, the world's largest real estate exhibition. And in October, it won the Iconic Award given by the German Design Council at the international real estate exhibition EXPO REAL in Munich. At the World Travel Awards of the tourism industry, the House of Music Hungary received the title of Europe's leading new tourist attraction in 2022.
