The renovated Tamariska Scout House was inaugurated and blessed on the first Sunday of Advent. At the ceremonial handover, the national flag was raised as a sign of respect, reports csepel.hu.

Before 2010, Tamariska Hill in Csepel was a neglected, dilapidated area, which was restored by the new local council. In 2019, the 200-square-metre scout house was built on the site of the former propane tank exchange plant at 41 Damjanich János Street, 21st District. In 2019, the Csepel Scouts put the new building into use, which was damaged by a fire in February this year, and the terrace and roof structure burned down.

The article also reports that at the handover, Mayor Lénárd Borbély, who himself was a Scout as a child, thanked the staff of the Csepeli Városgazda Zrt. for the reconstruction of the burnt terrace and the roof structure. "Especially in this period, it is even more important to have value-based communities," he emphasised.

Afterwards, parish priests György Kispál and Péter Kertész, pastor Imre Temesvári and vicar Dénes Mosolygó blessed the renovated scout house on behalf of the Csepeli Pastoral Circle. The building was walked around, sprinkled with holy water, and the monograms of the three kings were written on the doors - read on csepel.hu.

At the end of the handover, Father György thanked the Mayor and the builders for the reconstruction. As he said: from today they can once again continue nurturing the traditions of Csepel scouting in a place close to nature.
