The downtown municipality has invested in the construction of the V.30 building at 30 Vadász Street. The building, designed by Kossuth Prize-winning architect György Skardelli, is remarkable for two reasons. On one hand, it is built on a plot of land measuring just 35 metres by 19 metres, yet it has a number of sports and wellness features. Next to the 4-lane, 25-metre swimming pool and teaching pool, there is a thermal spa, volleyball, basketball and badminton courts, a fitness centre, sports studios, saunas and a climbing wall.

In addition to practical architectural solutions, energy efficiency has also been given special attention. Therefore, the building was designed with a double façade: the real façade is fronted by a metal-glass structure that is stretched to allow natural light in. Thanks to the glass surfaces on the roof and the light corridors, natural lighting will reach the whole building, down to the swimming pool on level -2. Solar panels are used to cover the electricity needs of the lifts.

The thermal pool water is drawn from a thermal well and the heat from the thermal water is used to heat the facility. As we reported earlier, the municipality drilled an 800-metre deep thermal wellas part of the projectand was successful.
