Mocsárosdűlő is the last, valuable swamp area of Buda. It covers a total of 85 hectares of vegetation – meadows, forests, pastures and small groups of trees – and 25 hectares of protected area. Many rare plants live here that can't be found anywhere else in Budapest.

The Budapest city council plans to develop the area. Among the ideas is the creation of a so-called eternal forest from the existing planted poplar forests by using native tree species and prohibiting clear-cutting. They are waiting for opinions on the function of the Mocsárosdűlő in a questionnaire.

Respondents can vote on whether they want a public park, sports park, dog park, forest gym or playground in the area. They can also comment on whether there should be a buffet, restaurant or event space in the area.

Based on the answers to the questionnaire so far, it can be said that visitors primarily like peace and quiet in Mocsárosdűlő. Therefore they do not support, for example, the construction of a playground or the design of event spaces, buffets and restaurants.

The vast majority agree that more attention should be paid to the area and its cleanliness.
