A 127-room hotel will open in the former Radetzky Barracks on Bem Square, expected in 2024. The historical 19th century building was almost completely demolished last year, leaving only the main façade overlooking the square.

A new park is being built in the 13th district. The green will include an artificial lake, bridge and new sculpture. The large park will also reuse rainwater and house 55 new trees and over 21000 new plants. The local council has announced a design tender for the statue.
Missing historical elements of Chain Bridge to be restored during renovation

The bridge will be closed to road traffic for 18 months from the beginning of summer this year, while pedestrians will not be able to cross the river on its pavement from the spring. The stone lions and missing historical elements will be restored during the renovation. Public lighting on the structure will be modernised with LEDs, and the bridge's illumination will also be updated to facilitate different colour changes.
Plans for family park in Tétényi Meadows completed

The family park in Tétényi Meadows will be built around the Danube Swabian Memorial in Nagytétény in the 22nd District. A nearly 800-metre-long István Fekete botanical educational trail has been built to commemorate this double anniversary, stretching from Széher Road in the 2nd District to the Hárs Hill saddle.

However, only two of these are rock formations. One of these stands on Budapest's present-day border (the other in the Békás /Bicăjel/ Strait in Transylvania).

Underground parking garage and new promenade opens on Dózsa György Road

The parking garage on Dózsa György Road has been opened to the. public. The new three-storey parking garage can fit 800 vehicles. Named Múzeum Parking Garage the structure also contains bike stands. and a shower. A 12,000 square metre park and promenade have been created on top of the new building.
Mester Street Clinic receiving five-storey expansion

Vizafogó Nursery wins Budapest Architecture Award 2020

Pasarét Franciscan Church to be renovated and expanded

The Franciscan Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Pasarét is to be renovated alongside the attached monastic buildings and library. Modernisation works will also include the creation of new community spaces. Plans are to renovate the parish in the autumn, and complete work on the Church and monastic structures in June 2021.

The BP Fatár [Tree Store] app has been updated and now includes the description of 100 famous trees, 38 local natural conservation areas and natural treasures in Budapest with pictures. The addition to the application were announced by Főkert at a press conference on Friday.
Budapest to lease out the Embankment to Food Trucks

City authorities to allow food trucks and movable food pavilions to be placed on the Lower Embankment on the Pest-side of the Danube between Margaret bridge and Eötvös Square between 18th July and 13th August. The majority of providers will be located at the foot of the Chain Bridge between the Danube and Széchenyi Square. The food trucks will serve foods, beverages and alcoholic drinks and must be open until midnight.
